Oven-Baked Potato Wedges

Oven-Baked Potato Wedges

I usually minimised the frying of food as it involves a lot of cleaning up after that. This recipe makes use of the oven to make delicious oven-baked potato wedges.

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes (I like to use Brastagi Granola Washed Potatoes)
  • Pinch of salt for seasoning
  • Dash of black pepper
  • 1 tsp of chilli flakes/paprika powder
  • 1 tsp of tumeric powder
  • 1 tsp of dried basil / chopped fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • 1tbsp of cooking oil

Method:

  1. Wash and dry the potatoes unpeeled.
  2. Cut each potato into half and then each half into 4 wedges of uniform thickness.
  3. Put the wedges into a container. Add the oil into the wedges and mix well.
  4. Add the seasoning and mix again.
  5. Put the wedges on a baking tray lined with baking paper. The skin side should be facing down.
  6. I use the healthy fry function on my oven to cook the wedges. Put the baking tray into a preheated oven set at the ‘Healthy fry’ function using my steam oven. Set the timer for 15-20 mins. After the 15mins mark, monitor the wedges. Once a fork can easily pierce the wedges, they are ready
  7. Alternatively, bake in a convection oven set at 200C for 40mins. You can also use the air fryer or just deep fry on the stove.
  8. Let is cool slightly before serving with your favourite sauce.
